Hurricane Irene?

Well, we survived the "hurricane".  I bought a flashlight and lantern and filled the tub full of water for nothing. I am grateful, though, and I think about all the people who weren't so lucky. Today, it is a beautiful day out.  We have the windows open and have fresh, cool air breezing through the house.

On a side note, Declan had his first experience with a rubber ducky at bath time.  I will post the video later.  Too cute! The baby is in bed and Neil and I are sitting down to watch a movie (for the first time in forever) and eating raspberry pie and an apple dumpling from the Shady-Maple Amish Market.  Good stuff.

Eat Your Heart Out, Gerber!

I think I am finally getting the hang of making homemade baby food.  My first attempts were not very successful.  Declan did not like avocado and my bananas were lumpy (he likes them frozen though). But the sweet potato puree was a big hit and today I made butternut squash and acorn squash.  Next is pear puree!

On the Move

I put Declan on his forest play mat and wandered into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. When I peeked over the counter, this is what I saw.  He can't even crawl yet!
