Declan loves Thomas the Train and is a big fan of the train table at Barnes & Noble.

He also loves playing with the big Thomas at home.

Please Touch Museum

A couple of weeks ago I took Declan to the Please Touch Museum in Philly. He had a great time and we can't wait to go back!

 

Declan also had his first ride on a carousel there, really liked it and didn't want to leave!

Easter

Declan had a jam-packed Easter this year. He started off with a MOMS Club Easter egg hunt and then attended an Easter party his friend's mom had.  He got quite a few cookies and stickers in his eggs and seemed to enjoy the surprises.

The Friday before Easter, we went on a hayride to Bunnyland to meet the Easter Bunny (and where I almost lost my wedding rings in the hay). Saturday, I woke up confused thinking it was Easter and put out the eggs and baskets only to be reminded by Neil that Easter was on Sunday. So, Declan had Easter a day early. Then we headed out to Amish country to have breakfast with Yummie and the Easter Bunny. 

Mad Skills

Declan is a little sponge and he is learning all sorts of new things every day. It is very exciting for Neil and I to watch!

Big Boy Turns One!

My little baby turned 1!!! He started off the morning with Thomas the Train toys from his Daddy and ended the day with a candle in a little strawberry cream cheese muffin. Good times.

Valentine's Day

I remember last year wondering if I would have a Valentine's Day Baby, since my due date was February 19th. Declan decided to hang out a little longer and hold out for March, so this was his first Valentine's Day.

 

Paper Products

Fascinating stuff. Looks like I will need to stock up on toilet paper and tissues at Costco.

"Walking"

Declan uses his high chair to "walk" and his walker he got for Christmas.  He's ready to take off!

New Year's Eve at the Beach

Active Boy

I thought Declan would skip crawling (with his belly off the ground) and go straight to walking. But, more and more, he is crawling on all fours (better late than never). He will also pull himself up on just about anything and, unfortunately, has started using his highchair as a walker. I see many bumps and bruises in our future!

Our family signed up at the YMCA and I'm taking the little guy to infant swim lessons. He loves to splash and bob in the water and chase floating toys. We are both enjoying the kiddie pool. Showering and changing afterwards is still a challenge I have not mastered with a wet, squirmy baby.  I saw one guy go into the family showers with his stroller...maybe I will try that (it doesn't get wet).

Now that the holidays are over, we are getting back into our routines.  We love the library and Kindermusik.  I also just joined another mommy group.  Busy little bees! My house is a bit of a wreck, but my son seems happy with life. :D
